The White Poppy

If you haven’t seen this horrendous and dishonourable item, consider yourself lucky. This, is the Peace Poppy or White Poppy and it symbolizes the pacifist desire for peace. Some back story on this ridiculous idea is that it has been around for many years, mostly in the UK. The makers of this disgrace insist it’s not meant to diminish the Red Poppy or to suggest our armed service members who’ve died in conflict made errors in judgement, but too suggest that in the future better options should be sought.

I saw one of these on a hipster dofus on Queen St. and wanted to rip it off of his shirt. This… this is an assault. It’s a spit in the face for the men and women who died so this guy could dress like a dick. This isn’t a comment on hipsters dressing like they jumped into a pool of clothes and just said “Yeah that looks good”, because that’s what we won the right to when our armies defeated tyranny.

I was against Iraq and will be against a conflict with Iran. I support peaceful alternatives. But this… this is a joke.

Not to mention the profit move behind this – $6.00 for 5. All of this equates to a gross disgracing of our fallen vets.

There are 330ish days you can wear this, but during November, the Red Poppy is the only choice. Doing otherwise and you might as well just go slap Veterans on their face.

I typically don’t do this… but I’m going to leave the final word to an asshole “The red poppy, in my opinion, represents the nostalgia and romanticizing of war.” – Ian Harvey, White Poppy Coalition

(Fibbed) Fuck you Ian Harvey.

a white poppy should be grounds for a punch in the nose, and once the nose is broken from several punches throughout the wearers day, a sharp kick in the ball sack or the survival kit (feminine) just so everyone knows from your gait, you were wearing the facking white poppy...  tramps disrupting a solemn occasion at the toronto remembrance day ceremony were adorned with the trash...
