We just closed the polls from Round 2 Day 3 and the results were incredibly competitive. Three of the head-to-head matches ended with the winner earning 51% of the vote. We’ll get to the results in a minute.

First I’d like to thank and congratulate Ilona Niemczyk of Winnipeg, Manitoba for the article in the Winnipeg Sun about Canada’s Sexiest Election Candidate and the turnout in her matchup against fellow Winnipegger, Ann Matejicka!

The battle is on to choose “Canada’s Sexiest Election Candidate,” with one of the most hotly contested matches having just wrapped between two local candidates in the federal election: Ilona Niemczyk, Liberal candidate for Elmwood-Transcona, and Ann Matejicka, Conservative candidate for Winnipeg North.

The results from Day 3 garnered 23,000 votes and the winners are as follows;
Kelly Block had 51% of the vote in her matchup.
Conservative Constantin Kiryakidis narrowly beat out Yukon’s John Streicker with 51% of the vote.
Bev Hodgson convincingly won with 56% of the vote.
Eric Burton narrowly defeated his competitor with 51% of the vote.

The voting for Day 4 is still open, and tomorrow we will be posting new matchups from the Sweet 16!
