VSĀ

Time (EST): June 16th – 10:00AM
Favourite: Spain

The Case for Spain: Finally Spain has arrived! After underachieving for so long, they finally have a team. When your team has top quality players in every position*… and a bench that’s more top quality players… it’s hard to argue against the Spanish. What does Iniesta and Torres mean to them though? Are they really ‘fit’? Will they play? We saw a ‘healthy’ Drogba today…

The Case for Switzerland: Show no fear Switzerland. Get on offense and break down their defense, that has to be the game plan. Figure out how to get the ball out of Spain’s capable feet!

Who’s the Key? David Villa, striker for La Roja’s is already slated by bookies to win the Golden Boot (Most Goals), so he’ll need to deliver for the Spanish squad. With Switzerland it lies with veteran Alexander Frei. He’s the sides best offensive threat, and like Villa, he’s going to need to score. If he can frustrate and break down the usual bored Spanish defense, he’ll make it count.

Who Wins? The keys won’t click for Switzerland unfortunately and a superior Spanish team will roll them over. 3-1.

If you need somewhere to watch the games, check out Boston Pizza Yonge-Sheppard. Giveaway Jerseys, Flags and more. Special Breakfast menu. $3.99 pints. And 15% off your meal if you tell them I sent you.

*Spain’s weakness is in their defense. They ARE quality, but they never unite.
