In recent months, I’ve been far more consumed with alcohol… or is that consuming far more alcohol… than I used to. Partly because I’ve been going out and enjoying what the world has to offer a lot more than I used to, but also because nice weather is finally here… and what’s better than sitting on a patio with a great drink?

Well, I think the next thing I want to do is to come up with and perfect the making of a signature drink for myself that I can make for me, guests, friends or family and also order in bars. Make no mistake about it… knowing the drink you can make and can order in a bar is important. It tells a quick story about the kind of person you are to those around you… don’t believe me?

Guy walks up to a bar and orders a Pabst… what’s your gut reaction? Hipster doofus.

How about a guy who orders a dirty martini, shaken not stirred? Either James Bond*, or trying to be cool but has no idea what he’s doing.

Your drink says a lot about you, and while it may seem insignificant… that cute girl ordering her drink beside you is making a judgement on what you order. So ordering something that matches your personality can be a small, important thing.

Mostly though, it’s just awesome if you know how to make something great that you can impress friends, family or dates with. Check out Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love for an example of what I mean… the guy just comes off as impressive.
