Ever seen a couple where one person just didn’t look interested in the other? I always wonder why the uninterested one let themselves stick with the relationship. Is it out of guilt? Fear? Not wanting to hurt the other party? Just a quick tip, if you’ve lost interest move on. It’s not easy or fun, but it’s what’s right.
Now, onto what stemmed this post. Last night on the subway, sometime around 1:30AM, I saw this really cute girl with this subpar guy. Now that in itself isn’t an issue. That’s actually relatively common I’d say. The problem was the body language that cute blond was showing. She barely made eye contact with him. She never smiled. She didn’t respond to anything he was saying. Okay you know what that happens. Maybe they had a fight was my first thought (after about 3 seconds). But then I watched them a little more (totally creepy I know, but this demonstration of bad body language was too good to ignore.)
He kept leaning over. He’d be making eye contact with her all the time, she’d be looking out the window. His hand on her thigh, her hands crossed. This girl wanted out. She was unhappy and for 2 minutes I considered intervening and trying to get her number. My roommate quickly shot it down. Said to “give this poor sap a break. She’s done with him anyway”. It was a strange thing to hear from him, he’s usually encouraging my behaviour, but I guess he saw how badly this guy was trying to hold onto this beautiful girl.
So instead I got all ninja like and snapped some pictures so you could all see a live example of bad body language!
(This last one, was the first time where she actually showed some interest. Then he opened his mouth, and she promptly took it off again)

PPS. To my readers… if you know the guy, can you put me in touch with him? I’d give him solid advice. Break up with her pre-emptively. Shock and Awe her. She won’t expect it and she’ll probably want to come back. Yeah she’s really cute, but dude, change your ways or forever be ‘just holding on’.
